Woodwise working at Washington Old Hall

Over the past few months Dave Tully from Woodwise has been really busy at Washington Old Hall a National Trust Property in Washington Tyne and Wear which is associated with George Washington First President of The USA. Washington being his ancestral Home.

To celebrate independence day there isĀ  a get together at Washington Old Hall and Dave turned up in the outfit of Rogers Rangers with musket and axe in hand, someone said that they heard him say “God Save King George ” and something about Ungrateful Colonials but this has not been verified yet.

In October Dave also led a food foraging activity in the grounds of the Old Hall which was well attended and was designed to identify what is good to forage and eat but also what is not good and potentially dangerous to eat. hopefully next year we will take the food foraging to the next level and look for foods and then learn how to prepare them for eating.
